William Arnold Obituary

Visit the Legacy Remembers website to view the full obituary.
Bill was born to Howard and Arlyne Arnold in Hudson, Colo., on July 22, 1945. Bill returned to his heavenly father Jan. 21, 2011, due to a tragic ranching accident doing what he loved.
Bill had a great love, passion, and respect for ranching and the cowboy life. A top-notch bull rider in his youth, Bill loved a good spinning bull and could ride them to the whistle.
In 1974, Bill met Dianne Robbins and they married in 1976. From this union they had three wonderful children, Kelly, Tammy, and Kent. Bill lived the cowboy life for 19 years, ranching in Gunnison, Colo. In 1995, the ranch moved to Nebraska for three years. After which Bill and his family moved to Hyrum, Utah. Bill worked for UDOT and continued his cowboy life. Bill always had a good horse and good cattle. Bill's laugh and personality were infectious; Bill never met a stranger and was always a good neighbor.
Bill is survived by his wife of 35 years, Dianne, daughters Kelly (Aaron) Wood, Tammy Arnold (Dewayne Lewis) and son Kent. Two grandchildren, Rylan and Taylor Wood, his mother-in-law, Margaret Robbins, many nieces and nephews, in-laws and two sisters, Beverly and Cheryl. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, G. Carte, his parents and his father-in-law, Ed Robbins. Bill touched many lives and will be missed by all that knew him.
Funeral services will be on Wednesday, Jan. 26, at 1 p.m. at the Allen-Hall Mortuary, 34 E. Center St., Logan, Utah. Friends and family may visit on Tuesday, Jan. 25, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Allen-Hall Mortuary and from noon to 12:45 p.m. prior to services. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.allenmortuaries.net.

Dear Dianne and family, I am so sorry for your loss, my condolences to all of you. I have such fond memories of Bill in his earlier years. I knew him when he and Dianne first fell in love. We had some great times together. Bill was such a fun character and a good man. I will miss him so much. Wish we got together more recently. Dianne, I really want to see you when you come to Colorado if not sooner. I'm a phone call away if you need a good old friend to talk to.
I love you,
BT (Bonnie)

In our memories and thoughts

January 26, 2011

Dear Dianne and family, Bev and Cheryl,

I have very good memories of cousin "Billy". While I hadn't seen him in at least 30 years, I feel that we could have just picked up with our conversations as if I had seen him yesterday. He was that kind of person.
While he was 6 years older, he always made me feel at home when I visited or got to spend the night at Aunt Arlene and Uncle Howard's farm. He would let me ride any horse they had (and they had some great ones) or would encourage me to climb on any bull they had in the corral and tell me how they would try to throw the rider, although I passed on the bull riding.
He was able to do anything that needed to be done around the farm and with the livestock, even when he was young.
We were very sorry to hear of his accident and know that our prayers are with you.

Dianne & Family
We were shocked to hear about the tragic death of cousin Billy. I have many memories of Billy when we were growing up. From his 1957 car to his desire to ride bucking bulls. That is what Billy was all about.May God give you strength to bear this loss, as only He can do, and grant His loving comfort to you and your family.

Dear Diane and Family,
We can only imagine how shocked and devastated you all are. Please know our thoughts and prayers are with you.

My memories of Bill are "cousin memories": Arnold family gatherings on Christmas Day at the Grange Hall, Arnold family picnics at Grandpa's lake, occasional activities at Aunt Arlene's. Although our paths crossed less frequently as we all grew older, I remember Bill as always friendly and kind...and smiling! I'm sure you will all miss that and so much more......We are certainly thinking of you.
