William Arp Obituary

Published by Prince George Citizen from Jul. 14 to Jul. 16, 2018.
William (Bill) Arp It is with heavy hearts the family of William (Bill) Arp announce his peaceful passing on July 10, 2018 at the age of 86 following a most courageous battle with COPD. He will be lovingly remembered by his sons, Jim (Bev). Howard (Judy). Chester. Trever (Stephanie) and daughter Donna (Todd). Loved so much by grandchildren; Donavan (Rosie). Tamara (Chris). Curtis (Jasmyne). Robyn (Jes), Lindsay (Matt), Carson (Rae-Ann), Morgan (Chris), Travis (Taylor) and Josh Sim. Adored by great grandchildren; Cameron, Paisley & Aurora; Micah & Samuel; Aubree & Aspen and his little dog Rocky. Fondly cherished memories of surviving siblings; six brothers; Leonard. Clifford. Ken (Therese). Irvin (Denny). Gerald (Jacquie), Lvle (Liz) and two sisters; Eleanor, Darlene (Philip), sister in law Lil Arp and their families as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Bill is also survived by second wife Rita Arp. and extended family members, Ann (Dennis) Rau, Darryl (Wendy) Hanet and Melanie (Barry) Barski. Bill was predeceased by his parents Bill & Ann and stepdad Frank, his loving first wife Irma and infant grandson Trent along with Brothers Arnold, Darwin and Sister Marlene. Bill was born in Naicam Saskatchewan on March 13. 1932. At a young age he left the prairies and headed to BC where he enjoyed a fulfilled life as a horse logger and faller In the logging Industry with Doug Mightons, Corless & Smith, Thursday Lumber and Carrier lumber. From there he literally shifted gears to trucking with Boris Reefer, Circle T lines, Clark Reefer and what is today PAPASON TRUCKING, with his boys and "work" family. Dad's favorite pastime was listening to his country music tunes to which his toes were still tapping to the very end; playing crib, enjoyed bowling, loved horses and doing his needlepoint and regular coffee visits to Timmy's. He was always open to dinner/lunch outings to his favorite spots for salt & pepper chicken wings, liver & onions. Our Dad was such a wonderful, gentle, loving caring man who was the friendliest fellow you could ever meet. Always a smile on his face, a positive attitude, never one to complain and lots of people enjoyed his company. If there was anyone to give us guidance, all the love in the world and advice-It was our Dad - and for that we truly thank him for all his time and energy. In lieu of flowers, donations in Bill's memory can be made to PG COPD Group or St. Vincent de Paul where he spent many hours. A visitation for friends will be held on Friday July 20, 2018 from 7:00 - 9:00pm at Assman's Funeral Chapel. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday July 21" 2018 at 10:00 am at Zion Lutheran Church 180 Tabor Blvd. Dad was proud to say he was a "guinea pig" for the new up and coming doctors through the medical program @ UHNBC. We would also want to thank the nurses on 2nd floor FMU for their care and compassion-it meant a lot during a difficult time. Dad-you will always be in our hearts-until we meet again in Heaven. Keep Smiling --Keep Trucking .

Bill was some body I could talk to that was always ready to listen to your problems and he did it with a smile. Bill was open, friendly, and genuine, and a lot of other descriptive words. All in all, a great man and I will miss him. Love you Bill, see you soon in heaven. Brian Fochler
