William "Aaron" Barr

William 'Aaron' Barr - MACON - William 'Aaron' Barr, 'Bubba' to his sisters, 'AB' to his friends, age 27, residing in Macon, GA at the time of his death on Saturday, August 21st, 2010 as a result of a motorcycle accident. Aaron was born March 29, 1983 in Houston, Texas to his parents Robert K. Barr and Sandra K. Barr Williams. God answered our prayers and sent us a son to watch over. He had three sisters, Lisa Barr Garza, 34 of Dallas, Texas, Paige Barr, 22 and Brooke Barr, 18. He was married on June 18th, 2006 to Carley Hatfield Barr. He met Carley while they were both attending Mississippi State University. Aaron completed an internship with NASA and worked as a research assistant while at the university. Aaron joined the Army after graduating college and became an Army Ranger. He served in Afghanistan and Iraq and was recently discharged. He was currently employed as a process engineer for Active Minerals in Macon, GA. Aaron was born in Houston, but moved with his family to Frisco, TX when he was 2 yrs old. He attended Frisco schools until his family relocated to Como, TX in 1990. His family moved back to Frisco, TX in 1993 where he attended Frisco High School. Aaron and his father later relocated to the Memphis area. He graduated in 2001 from Cordova High School. He played baseball, football, and rugby. Aaron will be loved and remembered by his spouse, Carley Hartfield Barr, Macon, GA. His parents, Robert K. Barr, Macon, GA, his mother, Sandra K. Williams, Katy, TX. His grandparents, Albert E. and Anna Mae Rouw of Pella, IA and Dora G. Barr of Bartlett, TN. His sisters, Lisa, Paige and Brooke. Nephew, Ian Garza, Cousins, Jenny Buitenwerf, Cory Meyers and Molly Johnstone, and various Aunts and Uncles. Aaron loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing and taking his dog Bo along. 'He was a hero who defended our freedom. He was a devoted husband. He was a God fearing man. And, he was my friend... Of someone I could never ask for more... Because anything he had of himself he gave when called upon...' Travis Gentz Services will be held Wednesday at Bethlehem Primitive Baptist Church, Echola, AL. Elder Timothy McCool will be officiating. Lunch will be served at the church at 11:00, family viewing at noon and public viewing at 1:00 pm with services at 2:00pm and internment at Springer Cemetery following the services.
