Bill was a good friend for many years, as well as friendly rivals--as fellow geologists, exhibitors and philatelic judges. Though he was always one or more steps above me, he never lorded it over me and was always ready to help any and all of us. He will be greatly missed.

Bill was a wonderful friend and community member. We miss his daily visits and his smiling face. He enjoyed being greeted by our shop cat & dog. He called them his "devoted fans". He had wonderful ideas for upcoming events and plans for our village. His passing is a loss to all who knew him and to our village.

As President of the Unadilla Chamber I'd like to express my gratitude to Bill Bauer for the many ways he helped enhance our community, its historical significance and much more.
Bill attended our last meeting Nov 17 and afterwards, spoke to me with another of his many ideas on how to improve the village - signs at each main entrance into Unadilla denoting the Troop 1 existence and our signature identity: "The Village Beautiful".
Bill Bauer never stopped caring about Unadilla. May we find a proper way to show we cared about Bill Bauer...

We'll all miss Bill. He knew more about Colorado Postal History than just about anyone. We'll miss his presence at the Rocky Mountain Stamp Show. We'll miss him at the Rocky Mountain Philatelic Library. He was such a great help to so many people. Goodbye, Bill.

Bill was a great person who willingly shared all his knowledge of any subject to anyone who would ask. Working with him over the past several years with the Colorado Postal History Society has been a great pleasure. He and his knowledge can not be replaced he will dearly be missed.

It doesn't seem that long ago, that Bill and a bunch of us were active in BSA Troop 1, Unadilla. What wonderful years that fortunately are my most fond and favorite memories... never fading from my mind. Bill's long-standing community involvment, interest and impact will be sorely and sadly missed by many close friends and associates. May God Speed fellow scout, sadly, Johnny Wilson

Bill will be missed by all of us in Colorado who knew him. He was the backbone of the Colorado Postal History Society and a friend to many of us. Few have made as much impact on philately at Bill did.

Bill was a member of the Collectors Club of Denver and the Rocky Mountain Philatelic Library and a strong supporter of the Rocky Mountain Stamp Show. I met him several times a year over about 10 years but can't claim to have known him well. He always knew my and my Wife's names and was glad to see us. We will miss his friendliness.

Although we both left Unadilla a number of years ago, I remember Bill as a good friend and a fellow scout who was still contributing to his home community at the time of his death.

Bill's passing leaves a BIG void in Unadilla. His great work with the planning for the 100th Boy Scout Celebration has provided a real base to carry forth that emphasis. Perhaps the Celebration could be dedicated to Bill.
Also, his past work to carry on the other Boy Scout works - especially in the Historical Museum and the former Masonic Temple plus the Unadilla Central School Alumni should be noted - without his many efforts these organizations would have suffered greatly.
We morn this great friend and community spirited individual!
