William "Bill" Dicks

I am grateful I got to ride bikes with Bill at Amanda and Vic's wedding in Minnesota. It brought back memories of childhood visits to the farm and one visit Bill made to Keokuk, Iowa where I was growing up. We are the same age, Bill and I, and since I was quite the tomboy I relished having a cousin who played baseball.

I send my loving thoughts to help console Brenda, Stacey, and Shane, all siblings and the rest of family and friends, in facing the big hole that now is evident. I am grateful he is not suffering now, but I know life will seem so strange without his smile, his warmth and engaging ways. May we all celebrate the opportunity we each had to know him and be influenced by the kind of person he was.

May all who knew Bill keep alive the community his life generated by sharing your stories and memories with the family and other friends and not worrying about saying the wrong thing or doing the wrong thing. We need each other.
