William "Bill" Frank Hobin Sr.

Bill was born March 30, 1928 in Bremond, TX and passed away January 21, 2013 at his home in Dallas. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mike and Maggie Hobin; brothers, Fred, Ed, Lee, K.C. and Frank William; and sisters, Annie and Florine. Bill is survived by his wife and best friend of 62 years, Mary; children, Frank, Cynthia, Margaret, Judy, Jimmy and David; 10 grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was a radio broadcaster during the 1940's in Corsicana, as well as a taxi driver, and worked at Safeway in the bakery and meat warehouse. Bill enlisted in the US Army Air Corps in 1946, serving in the Allied Air Force and later continued in the new US Air Force Reserves until 1950. He was a life member of both the DAV and VFW Post 6796, as well as a Union Shop Steward for Safeway. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital at www.stjude.org. Interment will be at Calvary Hill Cemetery in Dallas.
