William Black Obituary

HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C.- Mr. William E. Black, Sr. entered into rest Saturday, March 27, 2004 at Hilton Head Regional Hospital. Mr. Black was retired from Gracewood Hospital where he was employed as a warehouseman. He was a Baptist and served on the Deacon's board at Sherwood and Central Baptist Churches, where he also enjoyed participating in the choir. Graveside services will be conducted 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 31, 2004 at Westover Memorial Park. The Revs. Marion Jay and Jerry Wilson will be officiating. Survivors include three sons, William E. Black, Jr. of Holland, Mi., Richard E. Black of Bluffton, and Kenneth H. Black of Augusta, Ga.; 13 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. The family will greet friends at the funeral home Tuesday evening from 7 until 9 p.m., Sign the guestbook at AugustaChronicle.com

We were sorry to hear of Mr. Black's departure from his family. We have often thought and asked about him (and talked about "the good old days") when we were around anyone that we knew was a friend of his. Our sympathy is with each of you.
