William "Bill" Buchanan

I love "uncle Bill." I remember a river trip where I was invited to accompany the youth of his Flagstaff ward.

Right before my mission we went on a camping trip to the Boulder Mountains with his son Joe and my dad, Elloyd Marchant.

Because of my affection for him, I always referred to him as, "uncle Bill."

Bill is one of the funnest persons I ever met. He lived life to the full. Never on half speed, he plunged into life with both feet and arms a waving. It was delightful to read his obituary and learn of his many accomplishments.

I have fond memories of fishing trips to Lake Powell and Lee's Ferry with Bill. He and Elloyd really enjoyed working together. Bill was always thoughtful and remembered our family on special occasions.

Our loss is Heaven's gain.

Daryl and family. I am sorry that I will not be at Bills service on Friday. Mary is sick and not able to make the trip and I feel it necessary to stay and take care of her. Bill was a man like no other I have known. His honesty and integrity was of the highest caliber. After spending some time in business with and more time as a friend, I have tried to follow his example in ever way possible. He was a great father figure as my father passed away when I was 13. I will truly miss him and pray for you (Darhl) and your family. May the Lord bless and give you the strength you need during this time. Just remember the good times. We love you. Tony
