William Burge Obituary

William F. Burge Sr., 82, of Monongahela, died Tuesday, Oct. 18, 2005, in his home. He was born July 22, 1923, in Philipsburg, a son of the late Alfred and Harriet Wade Burge. He was a retired coal miner from Mathies Mine and was Protestant by faith. He is survived by his wife Ruth Whitehead Burge; four daughters, Ginny Lee Watson and husband William, of Monongahela; twins, Jean Fisher, of Farmington, and Joan Evans and husband Joseph, and Doris Forsberg and husband Craig, all of Monongahela; two sons, William F. Burge Jr. and wife Toni, of Monongahela, and Dean Burge and wife Stephanie, of Finleyville; six grandchildren, Connie and Jeff Watson, Deanna and Dean Burge, Brandie Chisholm, and Louie Wall; two great-grandsons, Jesse Chisholm and Nathan Burge; four sisters, Marie Fedak and husband Michael, of North Carolina, Jane Caggiano and husband Lou, of California, Louise Libby, of Maine, and Buelah Muir and husband Harold, of Philipsburg; and a host of other relatives. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, James Burge, on March 17, 2001; one daughter, Wendy Burge, on May 12, 2004; one granddaughter, Rena Burge, on Jan. 26, 1992; and his brother, Elmer Burge, who died in 1995. Friends will be received Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 t0 9 p.m. in the L.M. FRYE FUNERAL HOME INC., 427 West Main St., Monongahela, where services will be held Friday, Oct. 21, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Michael Milinovich officiating. Interment will follow in Monongahela Cemetery.
