Dear Cadman Family:

I was one of Mr. Cadman's first students at Stonewall Jackson. He was a man of deep faith and patient understanding. His "kids" was his motivation for installing in us a sense of respect and desire to learn (though he was always faithful in not telling me what H.R. stood for). I will always remember him for the kindness he bestowed and his friendship as a teacher. May you find peace and stillness in that he made our world a much better place in which to live.

Dear Mrs. Cadman,

My relatives in Orlando informed me of the passing of your husband. I can clearly remember having him as a student at Stonewall Jackson Jr. High. He was an excellent teacher and a compassionate man. I am so sorry for your loss. Please know that both of you made a postive impact in my life.

Sincerely,

Jeff Harper (CHS '74)

The world was a better place for having a man like Bill in it. I taught on the Beachers team with him at Stonewall. It was an honor to have known him. I have to smile when I think about the end of the year expensive dinner Bill provided for Anne from the collected pennies the children would disguard on the cafeteria floor and in the bushes around the campus.

Our world is a better place because of Mr. Cadman's passion for history, his excellent teaching practice and a life well-lived. As I shared with he and Mrs. Cadman last year, I became a teacher in part because of his dedication and love for the profession. As a result, his legacy lives on, not only in Orlando but possibly in towns across America.

I join with his family and friends as we celebrate that Mr. Cadman has now heard, "Well done, good and faithful servant."

Dear Cadman family,

You have my sympathies on the loss of a great man. It was my privilege to teach next door to Bill at Stonewall Jackson until I moved to the Colonial Ninth Grade Center where I continue to teach today. He was a great influence on me when I was a young teacher. I think of him often when I am in my living room. There in a prominent place on the table are books of Shakespeare's plays that he gave to me after his Aunt Mary died. I treasure them because the were hers and she was my principal when I was a student at Azalea Park Elementary, but I especially treasure them because Bill knew they would be important to me when he gave them to me. He will be missed.

To Bill's Family: How glad I am to have had a short visit with Bill at our Boone 50th Reunion in April. I was not aware of his "fight with many illnesses" but surely his legacy will be ongoing in the lives of all of you who are his treasured family. I am thinking of you with sympathy and love......
