With sadness and shock I heard of Bill's passing. I've known him for almost 50 years. We ran together on Shaler' track team and we both went to the state finals. He also lived in my neighborhood and we shared many escapades together. I haven't seen him in 2 years, but I will miss him. He was a great friend..

To the Family of Billy Carlin,
You have my deepest sympathy in the loss of Billy. He was a great guy and will be missed terribly by so many. My husband and I will miss him at the VFW on Friday nights. He always made us laugh.I think I will miss that the most, his sense of humor. Always with a smile on his face, that is how I will remember him.
We will keep you and Billy in our prayers.

My sincerest condolences to Billy's family. I know that I speak for his many friends that we share in your loss. I am proud to say that I am among them. Besides being a gentleman, a proud veteran and a true friend to many, most people don't know what a tremendous athlete Billy was in his younger days. To this day, I seriously doubt that I saw anyone that could run as fast. A few years back, he and I were on opposing teams in a flag football league. He blistered me! He burnt everyone in the league with that speed of his. I would often joke with him years later, when we shared beers at the Millvale VFW. I felt instead of putting his last name on the back of his jersey, they should have simply printed "Good-Bye". It saddens me now to think that temporarily we must say Good bye to him, I wish it were only on a football field, but I know he and I will meet and laugh again together one day.

I am saddened to hear of Bill's passing. I was a classmate of Bill at Shaler HS and remember the great and funny things he did to make the HS years so much fun. My sympathy is extended to the family and friends.
