William (Bill) Edgar Chamblee Saratoga Springs, Utah 2/4/1944 – 3/10/2017 Passed away peacefully on March 10, 2017, in Lehi, Utah, from complications received after a stroke on March 7, 2017 at home in Saratoga Springs. He was born, Clarence Early Stoots, on February 4, 1944, in Pulaski, Virginia, to Elizabeth Nadine Richardson and John Richard Stoots. With hardships encountered early in life, he was adopted, by Worth Edgar and Julia Chamblee, and was able to choose the name William Edgar Chamblee. As life continued, he enlisted early in the US Army, at the age of 16, by using an alias, William Joseph Purdue. He successfully served and was honorably discharged from the 82nd Airborne Division in the U.S. Army. He returned to civilian life using his legal and adoptive name. He attended Embry Riddle Aeronautical University in Florida and was employed in the National Space Program for over 30 years, throughout the US, including Edwards AFB, California, Kennedy Space Center, Florida, and Redstone Arsenal, Huntsville, Alabama. He worked on famous projects including the Apollo projects, the Space Shuttle, ending his career with the US Space Station. He retired in 2000 as a Manufacturing Engineer with The Boeing Company. Bill was blessed with many successes and endeavors, but most of all a close and large family. He is survived by his Wife, Margaret (Peggy) Rose Giberson-Chamblee. Daughters: Stephanie (Tom) Chamblee-Blum, Tiffany (Lance) Chamblee-Funn, and Jennifer (Jason) Chamblee-Arnold. Grandchildren in order: Daniel, Charlene, Dillon, Brayden, Madison, Kaleo, Alexis, Laura, Kaikea, Liliana, and Keanu. Great Grandchildren: Isabelle. Brothers: Paul Pierce, Walt (Yung) Pierce. Sisters: Anita (Carl) Stoots-Gould, Loretta (Lance) Stoots-Reed, and Paulette (Fred) Pierce-Bustamante. Bill is preceded in death by parents: John Stoots, Elizabeth Pierce; adoptive parents, Worth and Julia Chamblee; brother(s): James (Kathy) Stoots, Richard Stoots; grandsons: Logan, Canyon, and Cole Funn. The Funeral Service is scheduled for March 16, 2017 at 4PM at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints located at: 49 E. Centennial Blvd, Saratoga Springs, UT 84045. A private Interment will follow preceding a Memorial for him in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.
