William Cigich Obituary
Age 71, of Canton, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family Thursday afternoon Feb. 19, 2015 following a brief illness. Bill was born Sept. 13, 1943 in Massillon, the son of the late George and Ethel (Koehler) Cigich. He graduated from Perry High School in 1961 and served his country in the US Army. Bill retired from the Timken Company in 1995 after 30 years of service. He enjoyed playing cards, shooting and fishing.
In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by a brother, George. He is survived by a daughter, Tiffany (Russell) Kile of Canton; son, Michael Cigich of San Diego; brother, Richard 'Pete' Davidson of Cadiz; granddaughter, Destanie Perry; niece, Vicki (Robert) Francis; nephews, Steve (Paula) Cigich, Thomas (Kelly) Cigich; great-nephew, Aaron; great-nieces, Alli and Alivia. He also leaves behind Ivan, his pet crow of 27 years whom he raised as a baby.
Family and friends will meet Tuesday at 11 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church with Fr. G. David Weikart as celebrant. Burial with military honors will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call Monday 6-8 p.m. in the Williams Funeral Home. Going to Perry High and also working together at Carm's Foods. What times! You always marched to your own drummer.And then to be in the Army in Germany at the same time. Our paths crossed many times over the years. I remember our last phone talk this past Christmas with Ivan as background. Peace Bro.
