Mr. William Brannon 'Jack' Coats, age 84, of Douglasville, GA passed away Friday, November 18, 2011. He was born January 10, 1927 in College Park, GA son of the late William P. and Laura Brannon Coats. He was also preceded in death by his son Larry Coats. Mr. Coats was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during World War II. He was an avid golfer and loved fishing and traveling in his motor home. Mr. Coats was a well known builder in Douglas County and a member of Central Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Marilynn Coats of Douglasville, GA; children, Jackie Woodham of Douglasville, GA, Donna Kimmons and husband John of Griffin, GA, Bill Coats and wife Michele of Smyrna, GA, Doug Coats and wife Linda of Douglasville, GA; daughter-in-law, Patricia Coats; grandchildren, Lisa, Mark, Julie, Allison, Susan, Chad, Jennifer, Christi, Vicki; great-grandchildren, Ashley, Brad, Bryce, Lauren, Emily, Ashlyn; brothers, Ronnie Coats, Joe Coats; sisters, Ruth Strawn, Margie Benefield. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, November 20, 2011 from 5-7 PM. The funeral service will be Monday, November 21, 2011 at 3:30 PM in the Rosehaven Chapel with Rev. Charles Gibbs and Rev. Steve McFalls officiating. Interment will follow at Rosehaven Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Central Baptist Church, Building Fund, 5811 Central Church Rd., Douglasville, GA 30135.
