To the family of Dr. William P. Coffman,
I didn't have the chance to have Dr.Coffman for Ecology because I had too many credits one year, but he was always willing to help us as students. And his passion and drive for the Biological Science world is what I always would like to achieve. He will truly be missed. Condolences to all who loved him!

I enjoyed Dr Coffman's entomology class at Pymatuning so much that I went into the field. He was very encouraging. He will be missed.

To Bill's Family
I was in graduate school at Pitt with Bill. He was finishing up as I was starting. He was a wonderful mentor and colleague. I have many fond memories of summers at Pymatuning. My deepest sympathies to all of his family.

Bill's office and lab was across from mine at Pitt. We had many delightful encounters and debates regarding ecology and biogeography. I will really miss him. His legacy will live on at La Selva Biological Station in Costa Rica. Pitt magazine will soon publish a cover story on Bill's contributions to stream ecology.

I had Dr. Coffman as a professor for an Ecology and Evolution Seminar. His passion for ecology was inspiring. My condolences to his family and friends.
