William Cottrell Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jun. 23, 2022.
Graveside service for William Edward Cottrell, 77, of Duncan, Oklahoma will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, June 23, 2022 at the family cemetery, Paradise Hill Cemetery, south of Cement Oklahoma.

He was born August 4, 1944, to Delbert Cottrell and Wilma Blackburn Cottrell in Anadarko Oklahoma. He was the fourth son of seven children.

Willie was an enthusiast of life, he loved to spend time with his family, travel, race mini sprint cars, watch sprint car races, farm on the land he grew up on, and any other adventure he was invited to. He was willing help anyone with anything, but it was wise to have spotters if it involved large machinery. He held many jobs throughout his life, we won't list them all. He as the finder of things he would take one mans trash and make it a treasure. His ability to fix something was a marvel. He was a champion barterer; king of favors and he always knew a guy. He lived well and loved deep.

Willie married his wife Betty on April 22, 1972. They had 50 wonderful years together and made a home for the children on 'the corner' in Duncan Oklahoma.

He was preceded in death by his son Kevin McAdoo, his parents, Delbert and Wilma Cottrell, and brother Benny Cottrell.

He was survived by his wife Betty Cottrell, son Timmy McAdoo and wife Chris, daughter Terrie Cottrell Tolton and husband Todd, son Greg McAdoo.

He was the proud poppa of Cody McAdoo, and wife Anna, Jason McAdoo and Jeremy McAdoo, granddaughter Becca Cowan and husband Dustin, grandson Trey Clayton and Jeanie Lafon, granddaughter Peyton Clayton, great-grandson William and great-grandson Brentley.
