I am so sorry for your loss of Bill. My grandfather Cut Foster had fond memories of him through the Shrine and the railroad. My thoughts are with you at this time, and hugs to all of you.

So sorry to hear of Bill's passing. He was a good man and I know he has gone to his reward in heaven where there must be rail-cars for him to work on. God Bless and Rest in Peace.

Diana and Jen, and all of Bill's family: I am so saddened to learn of Bill's tragic accident. He was a good man...enjoyed it when he was at the Katahdin Times office. May he rest in peace.

Diney and family please accept our deepest sympathy on the passing of Bill. We played cowboys for many years as kids and had a lot of fun times in high school and as young adults. He truly enjoyed being a parent and grandparent.
Rest in peace our friend.

Bill, I never met you, in fact I never knew you existed until a little over a week ago when I made connections with Diana through Facebook. When we were children, she would come to visit her grandparents in Bridgewater, and we would all gather in and around the Old McKeen Swimming Hole on Whitney Brook on those long hazy days of summer.
I do feel a small connection with you because my father came home from World War II and joined Bangor and Aroostook Railroad and retired from there. He was a brakeman/conductor and often took me with him on the train when I was young. As a boy, I was amazed to learn that the behemoth diesel locomotives didn't actually drive the wheels of the engine, but instead generated electricity that powered the electors motors that actually moved the train that could haul over a hundred railroad cars. Being an electrician on the railroad, gave you a much deeper understanding of what that all entailed.
By reading these obituaries, I can see you were a much loved and appreciated man. The word “Good Man” comes up consistently! Being an organ donor reveals a Good Man still helping other people here on Earth, even as you have already stepped from this life into the Real Life the Heavenly Father has prepared for his children.
Bill, even though I never knew you, I am happy you brought so much joy to the Porter's and McKeen's in this life. God Bless You!
