William Denton Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Feb. 5, 2025.
William Bradford Denton, 43, of Grimesland, NC, passed away on February 2, 2025. Born on December 12, 1981, in Greenville, NC, Will lived a life filled with love, hard work, and lasting friendships.

Will is survived by his wife, Emily Creech Denton, and their two beloved children, Jordan Denton and Brody Denton. He also leaves behind his father, William (Dick) Denton, and "other" mother Patricia Denton of Chocowinity, NC; his mother, Deborah Cannon Lilley of Greenville, NC; his sister, Kellie Denton Conklin, and husband Carlryan Conklin of Greenville; his brother John (Trey) Furman, and wife Morgan Furman of Greenville; sister, Caroline Lilley Lang and husband Evan Lang of Hubert, NC; sister Laurie Newman of Asheville, NC; his double first cousin Thomas Denton and wife Tracy Denton; his aunt Becky Alexander and husband Mike Alexander of Greenville, NC. Will was a proud uncle to his nephews Carson Conklin and Elder Waters; nieces, EvaRyann Conklin, Annabelle Furman, Charlotte Furman, Aubrey Denton, and Harley Whitehurst. He also leaves behind his first expected grandchild from daughter Jordan Denton.

Will was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Jimmy Cannon and Peggy Cannon of Greenville; his paternal grandparents, Billy Denton and Peggy Williams; and his uncle, Tommy Denton of Greenville, NC; and niece Eloise Furman of Greenville, NC.

A dedicated entrepreneur, Will owned and operated WBD Landscaping in Greenville, NC, where he served the local community with pride and passion for many years. His commitment to his work and his clients was evident in the relationships he built and the beauty he brought to countless homes and businesses.

Outside of his business, Will found his greatest joy in spending time with his family and close friends. He loved being on the water, especially during the summer months, where he created cherished memories that will live on in the hearts of those who knew him. His warmth, generosity, and genuine spirit touched the lives of many, leaving a lasting impact on all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Will taught us two life lessons, "Laundry" is the only color that should be separated and loyalty makes you family, not blood (credit to his beloved friend Ka'trina Harper).

Will's presence will be deeply missed, but his memory will forever be a source of comfort and inspiration to his family, friends, and community.

A celebration of life will be held on February 15, 2025, floating from 3:00-6:00pm at The Barn located at 400 St Andrews Dr. Greenville, NC 27858

In lieu of flowers please send donations to Joycommunitycenter.org, Pitt Greenville Titans 2031 Manning Rd. 27858, or to Fame Allstars NC 5162 Corey Rd 28590. These were all organizations that were close to Will's heart.

We were heartbroken to hear about Will´s passing. He was one of the purest and brightest lights I´ve ever known, and it´s deeply unfair that he was taken so soon. Will´s kindness, humor, integrity, and unwavering love for those in his circle made a lasting impact on so many lives. He truly embodied the belief that loyalty makes a family, and his family was immense because of the love he gave so freely.

Our hearts goes out to his family-Kelly, Emily, Brody, Jordan, Ms. Patricia, Mr. Dick, Trey-and all who were fortunate enough to know him. He left a mark on this world far greater than most who are here twice as long. His presence will be profoundly missed but never forgotten.

With deepest sympathy and love,
Art, Fran and Napoleon Wallace

One time we were riding, well I was taking him somewhere and he asked me to put this song on, said it was his favorite or one of his favorites. I think a song by Pat Benatar not 100% sure... but it was from the 80´s I found it and we were listening to it.. he said it reminded him of his Mother and I could relate lol.. he was a good friend/neighbor. R.I.P my friend Will
