I hope his family will read this and fathom the magnitude of what Dr Douglas has done for people like me born defective with a Cleft Palate & Cleft Lip.

He worked his magic on me in the early 60's and to this day not one Dentist ever knew that I had them.

My parents were so grateful that they give my younger brother Brian the middle name of Douglas.

I served in the military and have been to third world Countries where kids do not get fixed and it made my heart hurt to know that in America it's now a common, simple fix.

My parents donated to the Cleft Palete Organization,Operation Smiles all their life because of Dr Douglas.

I am forever in his gratitude !!

Bill Douglas was a mentor and teacher to me as well as an inspiration and colleague. I was one of his last residents in plastic surgery and he taught me my craft as well as many lasting memories. He was always the consummate gentleman, had a great sense of humor and an appreciation of the finer things in life, yet treated patients from all walks of life with respect.

I wish I could be at his service today but recent surgery has kept me at home recuperating. However, my thoughts are with him and the family today.
