" Dear Phyllis, We are very sorry to hear the news of Bill's passing away. Though we knew him for short time during our travel with you in New Zealand, we greatly enjoyed talking to him; especially the heated election issues of 2008. Please, accept our sincere condolences. We wish you all the best"

My Dear Friend Phyllis,
I am so sorry for your great loss. I will long remember the incredibly kind and thoughtful man Bill was. He always had cheerful words and a helping hand to give to us all. I had such great respect for Bill. One of my most fond memories was a time he came to watch a Toastmaster Debate and ended up on the winning team! He made it so much fun. Another of my favorite times was when we met at a coffee shop for a quick cup of coffee and ended staying and talking for hours. I always looked forward to seeing Bill; he had great wit and a wonderful sense of humor. I am blessed to have known him and for the wonderful memories he created for me. My thoughts and prayers are with you both.
In love and friendship,

Dear Phyllis,
I am saddened by the loss of your wonderful husband. Bill was such a wonderful man,and one of the few who beat Jack at Scrabble.
We will miss him but rejoice that he is now with his Lord and Savior.
Warm Regards,
Marvelene & Jack

I love this picture of Uncle Bill and Aunt Phyllis. You can see the joy & happiness on his face. He was such a kind person, we will miss his smile!

I was incredibly sad to hear the news of Bill's passing. A favoured uncle of mine and baby brother of my mom, Mary. My youngest memories of Bill were when he taught me my timestables during one summer in Red Bluff. More recently, I have always looked forward to seeing him each year during my visits back home to the US and thoroughly enjoyed spending time with Bill during his two visits to Australia. Bill's passing is such a big loss - to my mom, my cousins and their families, Philly, my aunt Francye and to all those who knew him. And whilst distance might separate us, please know that you are each in my thoughts and heart. With special love, Paula

It was our pleasure to know Bill in his "earlier years"...1940's and '50's. He was the "catcher" for Duane's "pitching" everyday after school. They also enjoyed target practice in the nearby orchards. Both Duane and Bill were graduates of Red Bluff High School, Class of 1950.
With fond memories...Duane and Kathryn Heiber

Dear family, So sorry for your loss, Bill was always the little brother of my roommate at Chico State, Mary. We have lost contact over the years but shared Bill at a High School reunion years ago. Mary and I share memories of those college days. I hope she can read this.

I have had the honor to get to know Bill & Phyllis as their travel agent over the years. Bill was always so passionate about what he wanted to experience on each trip, and I loved this. Planning for Bill was always fun. To Phyllis - I hope you can find strength in this difficult time, and KNOW that Bill touched many lives in so many positive ways. He will always be remembered.
With my heart full....

Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you at this time. Many of us had the good fortune to know Bill through his love of track and field. His love of teaching definitely carried over to mentoring new officials.
May his memory be a blessing.

Dear Phyllis
I have such fond memories of you and Bill on the New Zealand trip, and just loved the way you seemed to have so much fun together. I have a picture in my head of the two of you eating hokey-pokey ice-cream, almost a daily ritual. I am so happy that you got to do that trip with Bill and feel extremely lucky to have been able to share the time with you. My heart and thoughts are with you. Jillian.

Bill and I got acquainted at Christ Community because he had a brilliant math student at ARC who was also my piano student. I was impressed that a Jr. College teacher would be so interested in a particular student--so many come and go over the years. But he knew Michael and often asked about him long after the math class.
I was thrilled when he and Phyllis married--they always looked happy together.
I always enjoyed Bill's warm smile and kind ways. I will miss him.
