William EVANS Obituary
William "Bill" James Evans, Sr., of Delray Beach, Florida, passed away unexpectedly and peacefully of natural causes on Friday, August 29, 2014.
Bill was born August 27, 1954, in Huntington, West Virginia to Helen G. Evans and the late William A. Evans. Bill was forever young at heart and full of life, and brought joy to everyone he touched. He was a wonderful son, father, grandparent and friend. He is survived by his loving mother, Helen G. Evans; his daughter, Nicole Gale-Evans; his son William J. Evans, Jr. and wife Elizabeth and grandchildren Dylan, Layne, Ethan, William III and Aidan, and great-granddaughter, Madolyn Rose; niece Katie Denning and husband Ben and their sons Ben and Luke; nephew Adam D. Franklin and wife Christy and their children Ryleigh Grace, Adam and Tanner; and niece Jennie L. Cummings and husband Mel and their son Will. Bill was a member of the Huntington East High School class of 1972 and studied at Marshall University and Washington & Lee University. Bill had many dear friends, including Keith Abbott, Mark Wells, Scott Beckett and Dylan White; also his special friends at the Quail Ridge Country Club. Bill moved to Hilton Head Island, SC, in 1986 to begin his lifelong career in finance with Interstate Johnson Lane, moving to Atlanta to serve with Raymond James and Aegon. Bill later moved to the Delray Beach, FL, area and served as Regional VP with Pacific Life. He was Divisional VP with Transamerica, and worked with AXA and Genworth. Bill was an exceptionally talented golfer who enjoyed traveling and being with friends. His stylish zest for life and enthusiasm will be greatly missed but never forgotten. The family will gather and greet friends for a celebration of Bill's life on Saturday, September 6, at Beard Mortuary in Huntington, WV, at 12:00PM, with Reverend Jerry Chapman, officiating.

Still can´t believe you´re gone. I really miss golfing and laughing with you Bill and think of you each time the Masters or Harbortown Tournaments are on TV. Miss you man!

I was so sad to hear that my friend, Bill, had passed away. I almost phoned him on his birthday, and now I am "so sad that I never got to. Bill will be missed by so many because the man NEVER met a stranger. He was like my brother and I will never forget him. RIP Sandy Seal Churchwell

Bill and I crossed paths several times professionally over the past 17 years and he was always kind and helpful to me in my career. I remember seeing him about 2 years ago at the Hartford National Sales meeting when he was very happy and excited about his new role. Bill was a real pro in Florida and everyone in the industry knew and respected him.
It was a blessing to have known him and he will be missed.

I had the pleasure of working with Bill for only a short time, but was fortunate that we built a friendship that continued on. I too will miss his friendship, his conversation, and his positive outlook on life. What a good man he was. Rest in peace Bill - you will be missed my friend.

Bill, you will be missed terribly. What a great friend, mentor, and genuine person. I know hundreds of people throughout the financial industry will slowly find out they have lost a friend. Dear Mrs Evans, You are the most remembered teacher I had through my entire school career, I still hold you at a special place, in both heart and mind. You were my teacher at Peyton elementary and you did a Great job with me, especially reading . I am so sorry for the loss of your son, life it seems, can be so cruel and not as we planned or hoped. Even though I did not know your son, it seems to me he was a good man , that touched a lot of people. I am very sorry for your loss, and I hope God spreads his mercy, compassion and love upon you and all your family and friends that loved and mourn your son. During a recent lunch Bill and I realized we had been friends for over 47 years. Throughout that time we had come and gone in and out of each other's lives. We weren't best friends but we were good friends. It was always easy talking with Bill because he remained positive about his career, his life, and all around him. His smile and his laughter were most contagious! We were planning a trip to visit Greg Hibbard in two weeks. Bill, it won't be the same without you, my friend. Bill was a very good friend. In college and afterwards we worked together for 6 years. He was generous and giving. I will miss his friendship but I have very fond memories of him. He will be missed by a lot of people.
