In this life you rarely have the chance to meet a man like Lahai. We let time past, and ponder about those we´ve met along our academic journeys, only to Google their name and find out that they are gone.
I met Lahai in 1981, he was kind enough to read a term paper I had written at Highline Community College, where we were students that year; we became friends, played tennis, and laughed a lot. And then he met my twin and freaked out, in a very funny way that bordered fear and excitement.
After graduation, I never saw him again. So sad that he is no longer with us, may he RIP. And to his children, I know the greatest gift he left you was his knowledge, he was truly gifted and talented, academically speaking.

I am Just learning about my old friend Lahai. Hard to believe. I first met Lahai, at the Comedy Underground in Seattle, WA. I thought it was hilarious that a guy with a strong accent and at times was difficult to understand wanted to be a comedian. RIP Lahai, you will be missed!
