Bill proudly served in the US Army for 23 years. He had many accomplishments in his life, but he would tell you his greatest accomplishment in his life was his family. Bill is survived by his loving wife, Lee; daughters, Dawn Marie Logan, Buffie Severns (Shon), Jennie Paul (Bill), Julia Corwin (Josh); sons, Christopher Matern and Tyler Farrington (Austin); sister, Diane Jennings (Don); brother, Jim Hamel; 2 nephews; 14 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; and 4 fur babies.
He has been reunited with his father, William Farrington; mother, Betty Farrington Hamel; and brothers, Robert Farrington and Jeffrey Hamel.
Bill was a true blue Pittsburgh Steelers fan. Here we go Steelers!
At Bill's request there will be no viewing or funeral service; but, there will be a celebration of life held in his honor at a later date.
He loved to entertain and help people do things the right way. He was a soldier who was willing to face any battle and fight to the bitter end, but this time the enemy won. As Bill said, "Cancer sucks!"

Bill was my boss at the jail, he was one of the greatest men that I could look up to. He was very empathetic, knowledgeable and so caring with love. He will be truly missed. Peace and love to you - hammertime as he would call me

Lee, I was so sad to hear of Bills passing. He was a good man with so much integrity. I used to tell him that I wished all men treated their wives the way he treated you, he was so in love with you and it showed. I'm sure the memories will help you through this hard time. Sincerely, Sue Perkins
