I (we) cannot thank Dr Feindel nearly enough for giving my husband Phil his life back.
Phil endured temporal lobe seizures, and several grand mal seizures, from the time he was eight years old, till the last one in 1989 (from forgetting his medication that day).
After surgery in November, 1984, we had high hopes this experience in Montreal would be the turning point. It was. Phil and I were able to build our own home, raise two healthy daughters, give our older daughter in marrieage, welcome two sweet grandchildren, and replace the 20 year old roof on our home, basically by himself. We would not be living in this house if it were not for the careful technical ability of Dr. Feindel. I just wish I could thank him again personally. And give him a huge hug, for giving my best friend and husband a quality life.

I trained under Dr. Feindel but not officially. He was my neurosurgeon in 1974 when I was 8 years old with meningitis and needed a shunt. I am a clinician today thanks to his inspiration. I try to use his bedside manner, inquisitiveness, and perseverance to advance science daily. You were one of a kind Dr. Feindel. May you rest in peace and your legacy and knowledge you left behind carry on for generations.

What a great legacy left by a great man. He was my first boss - a kind and inspirational man. I worked with him in the Cone Lab and the Neuroisotope Lab for 10 years, developing tracer techniques to guide in the neurovascular surgeries that he pioneered. He was a miracle worker to many. RIP Dr. Feindel.

I am sorry to hear of the passing of Dr. Feindel and wish the family every consolation. Today is the 29th anniversary of my life-changing surgery. Certainly, there are no words to describe the depth of my gratitude to William Feindel, and for the family's sacrifice of time spent with such a brilliant, dedicated and amiable man.

It is with such profound sadness that I learned of Dr. Fiendel's passing this week. I spent some wonderful years working at the Neuro and working with Dr. Feindel was what made it particularly special. On a personal note, he was a huge help to my family back in 1986 when we needed a strong advocate to help us get the necessary medical resources for my mother and I will be forever in his debt for his compassion and support during such a difficult time. May you rest in eternal peace Dr. Feindel ... You will be missed.

Dr. Feindel was a brilliant scholar, clinician and scientist. He will be remembered for his contributions, but most of all for his character. He still serves as a great role model for others in the neurosciences.

To the Feindel Family,
While I have never had the pleasure of meeting any of you, I had the honor of having my BBA degree from Acadia University bestowed on me from Dr. Feindel in May 1996. He joked with me at the time that "I see you brought some friends", as many of my friends were cheering and yelling from the balcony in University Hall! He made me laugh and I will never forget that very human moment. I had the pleasure of meeting him again a few years later. He was one of the kindest people I have ever met and a remarkable doctor who has helped so many people. My thoughts and prayers are with you and I hope the happy memories help you get through the difficult days.

We have such fond memories of Dr Feindel and his family from the two years when I worked in Dr Feindel's lab of experimental neurosurgery (1959-61). He was a gentleman and a gentle man.
