William. J. "Bill" Francis passed away peacefully in Ottawa on the 12th of July 2014 at the age of 78. Beloved husband of Gail Aldus for 58 years and loving father of their five children; Brent (Lucia), Darrell (Erin), Janet (Angus MacDonald), Matthew and Daniel (Ronalda). Survived by his nine loving grandchildren; Ben, Alex, Graham, Hilliard, Alastair, Laura, Christine, Billy and Selina. Also surviving Bill is his sister Doris Rose (late Ivan), brother Reginald (Lyn), and he was predeceased by his brother Hugh(late Lois). Dear brother-in-law of Dave Aldus (Eleanor) Peterborough. Bill began working with his father H.G. Francis in 1953, selling and servicing home comfort products, eventually taking over the business and growing it to become one of the largest independent firms in the petroleum, heating and air conditioning industry in Canada. The family will receive friends at the Garden Chapel of Tubman Funeral Homes, 3440 Richmond Road (between Baseline Rd. and Bayshore Dr.) on Monday, July 14th, 2014 from 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday, July 15th from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral Service will be held at Bethany Baptist Church, 382 Centrepointe Dr., Ottawa on Wednesday, July 16th
at 10:30 a.m. Interment Pinecrest
Cemetery. Donations to the Kidney
Foundation or the Canadian Diabetes
Association would be appreciated.

I have had the privilege of knowing Bill for the past 25 years. He was always a pleasure to visit with and exuded all of the true qualities of a gentleman. I will certainly miss the great emailed jokes he shared with me from time to time as well as his warm and gentle nature. May God give him the peace he most assuredly deserves.

Heartfelt sympathies to a very special family. Uncle Bill will be greatly missed for his generousity of heart and the love he gave to all those around him. So sorry to hear of Bill's passing. I remember lots of laugh's with my Dad, former employee, Art Grace, speaking about Bill and his Son's on the job. They worked hard and had fun on a daily basis.

Very sad to hear of Bill's passing. Condolences to the entire Francis family. As neighbors we had the pleasure of knowing Bill for many years as a generous person of honor and integrity. My favorite memory of Bill is the excitement of the neighborhood children on Halloween when they went to the Francis's house - the one that gave out the big chocolate bars.

My sincere condolences to all the family !
I have known Bill for 47 years . He was a great leader in the HVAC industry . Over the years, I asked a lot of different companies , what they wanted to achieve in business , and the answer was always the same " I want to be as big and as successful as Francis " .
Bill's passing will leave a big void in the industry , but his family will surely carry on his legacy .
