To the Gallagher Family
On behalf of the Ryan Family, I want
to send our condolences. Bill was a great man and a wonderful friend to my Mom(Kathleen) and Dad (John) ...and I know in my heart, that Bill & John are singing a classic Irish tune and watching over all of us.

We were in the House of Shields one afternoon. There was a strange looking guy at the bar who started to sing, so Bill went over and started singing along with him. They sang a few old songs together and then Bill told him that he was pretty good but he should get a haircut. Turns out that other guy was Rod Stewart.

We will never forget how Bill welcomed us to San Francisco in 1980. He embraced us like family and allowed us to share the insider's view of his beloved city. His quick wit and kind spirit are legend. I will never forget how one day he dragged himself into the office after a particularly zestful night out and announced to me that the only reason he had come in was "so that young Irish *#%@* would not have the last word". We will miss you Bill. God Speed!

Who who knew Bill can forget his leading us all in the singing of McNammara's Band - well, maybe just the first two or three bars of McNammara's Band . There are so many fond memories of Bill Gallagher "experiences". Your father was a terrific friend to so many and we are all a bit poorer with his passing.
