For many years I spent an evening with Bill at WQLN, not only as a listener, but also got to talk with him before and after his show at the station. Always had a kind word, and good stories to share both about life, and with his real life experiences with some of the Greats of Jazz.

He had a way of making you feel like you were in his living room playing records. I enjoyed his show.

When we lived in Erie in the early 2000s, Bill brought a lot of light into our lives at a difficult time- we listened weekly, and later became the friends he said hello to in McLean, VA. We miss Bill and are grateful for his life and gifts to so many.

Bill was a friend of many many years. Always willing to share some experiences, insights, and information about all of his interests. Always willing to answer any questions and always with a smile. he always remembered his friends from Whittier each and every week.

Forgive the lateness of my remembrance of Bill. I actually missed his obituary.Whatever else he did in his life, Bil was dedicated to sharing his love of jazz with his 27-year radio show specializing in big bans and swing in general. His dedication to his program was incredible, He made the drive from Meadville to WQLN every Saturday, including winter nights when most people wouldn't leave their driveway. His listeners will always remember Bill wuith respect and gratitude.

Very sad to hear about Bill. I will miss our many musical conversations. They could go for hours. I will light a candle for Bill. A great loss for WQLN. Sympathies to his wife and family.

My deepest condolences. His radio show on WQLN was wonderful, and he was the perfect DJ--knowledgeable, natural, and succinct. He'll be "breaking up the mood" in heaven.

Bill's show was an icon of jazz that was seldom heard on radio. RIP We'll miss you.

So sorry to learn of this. I finally had the chance to meet Bill in person earlier this summer at the WQLN Employee Pig Roast. He was interesting to talk to, and a genuinely nice guy. He and Saturday Swing will certainly be missed. My sympathies to his family.

Bill was a real gift to WQLN listeners, sharing his extensive record collection and encyclopedic knowledge of big band and small group jazz over the many years he was broadcasting. He never failed to show up, driving to Erie from Meadville in all kinds of weather. He was a warm and pleasant person to talk with, and had a great sense of humor. He will be missed. Sympathies to all of Bill's family and loved ones.

Bill was unbelievable! He had such cheer – and was such a joy to be around. Bill was loved by everyone at WQLN and will be missed by his thousands of fans, but for me – he was also a good friend and my heart is broken this morning. My prayers are with Bill's entire family.
