Cindy, Missy, Lilli,
I want to extend my deepest sympathy for the passing of Bill Gettsy. I worked with Mr, Gettsy in the main office for several years. He always had a smile and something good to say to me. A true gentleman. He came to visit me many times at my store in Short Pump and I always looked forward to seeing him. He was a wonderful man and I will miss him.

Cindy, Missy, and Lilli - I was really saddened to hear of Bill's death. He meant a lot to me and I considered him a great friend. We had many good times together when we worked together at ABC and when we visited after he retired. He will always be in my heart.

We send our deepest regrets at the passing of my dear cousin Bill. I loved him like a brother for he always acted like one to me. He has always been and will remain in our prayers. God Bless Bill until we meet again in a happier place and time. Love, Bob and June.

I loved Bill Gettsy. A giant of a human being, with his broad smile and warm-heart, I came to know him through his light-hearted humor, often laughing and joking, so full of life. He was a kind man, giving and considerate.
He was my mother, Rita (Tyson) Potter's cousin. He always made a point of stopping to see us when he visited our area in Florida, calling my Grandma Tyson "Aunt Von", short for "Veronica". When I had first met him, I was maybe three years old, greeted by this imposing figure in uniform, so serious from all the things he had seen, all that he carried on his mind and in his heart.
I grew up hearing stories of "Billy Gettsy" playing ball in the field with my Mom's brothers, Joe and Tippy, whose given name was also Bill. As a small child, I couldn't understand how that little boy and the man in the uniform were all the same person. I was a teenager before I saw Bill again at family reunions, but I grew to know him better, blessed by his presence whenever I would see him. What a great man he was!
My condolences to Cindy and Missy. I know your dad could not have asked for two better daughters. May God's peace rest on your hearts, comforting you and the rest of your family in the days to come. Bless you both. I love you both.
Lil, as Bill's companion and friend, you were a true blessing in his life. May God shine His light upon you so that you too may know peace and comfort. Much love always.
I know Bill is reunited with his Mom and Dad, with his wife Ann, and with all the family who have gone before, including Uncle Joe Von Winkelman. Free of age, illness and infirmity of the body, may God bless him with eternal joy and love.
We'll all meet again in Paradise, Bill. I'll see you there at a family reunion someday.
Much love,
Bernie Henderson
