William E. Goguen

Mr. William E. Goguen, age 82 of Lynn, died Friday in a local nursing home following a lengthy illness. He was the husband of Katherine N. (Dobbins) with whom he shared 55 years of marriage.

Born in Saugus, he was the son of the late Oliver C. and Eleanor (Arsenault) Goguen.

He was a graduate of Lynn Classical High School class of 1938 and was a lifelong resident of the city.

An honorably discharged veteran having served as Corporal in the U.S. Army during WW II, he served in the Battle of the Bulge and the European, African and Middle Eastern Theatre.

He was employed as a machinist for Hansen Engineering in Danvers for over 21 years retiring from there in 1981. He was a member of the Teamsters Local 25, the 10th Armed Division Veterans Association in New London, CT, the Captain William Shoemaker Post 345 American Legion in Lynn and the St. Stephens Towers Association.

He was a communicant of Saint Mary's Church in Lynn.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by 1 brother; Ernest Goguen of California,2 sisters; Josephine Burridge of Virginia Beach, VA and Emma Dobbins of Kissimmee, FL. He was the uncle to many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Edgar, Henry and Peter Goguen, Emelda Hands, Bella Ubesax, Alma Vose, Clara Kinsman and Yvonne Leger.
