Mr. William Goodman Sr.

Mr. William Louis Goodman Sr.,68, of Hazel Street, passed away Friday, August 11, 2017 at St. Mary's Hospital Vitas. Mr. Goodman was born May 28, 1949 in Isle of Wight County, Virginia, a son to the late Ben and Louise (Riddick) Goodman. William was educated throughout the Virginia School system. "Teddy" as he was affectionately known. Worked at various companies in his early years including Torrington Seymour, Pratt and Whitney and more recently at Firestone where he worked for over thirty years. Teddy was a great father and a hero to his children. He was a true family man and enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Mr. Goodman loved to entertain and truly enjoyed cooking. He had a very kind and generous heart. Teddy had a true passion for music and loved to cook. He loved sports especially baseball and basketball. Teddy was an avid Laker's fan and also enjoyed watching old western and karate movies. Teddy was a very hard worker and always seemed to keep himself busy. He was a jokester and enjoyed making people laugh. He was a joy to be around. He lived his life for others and loved everyone. Teddy will be missed by many. He leaves to cherish his memories: the mother of his children, Evelyn Goodman of Waterbury, three daughters; Dolores Bond of Waterbury, Joyce (Goodman) Warren of VA, Vanessa Woodson of AL, three sons; William Goodman Jr. Leroy Dobbs Jr. both of Waterbury and Greggory Woodson of North Carolina; one sister Katherine C. Goodman, three brothers; Therman Lee Goodman, Benjamin Goodman, both of Waterbury and Robert Goodman of Southbury, along with seventeen grandchildren, two great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.
