I would like to express my condolences to the Graham family. I learned of his passing in The Miami Laker community newspaper that is delivered to my home. I had the pleasure of meeting his daughter on one occasion. My thoughts and prayers are with his wife, his children, and brother Senator Bob Graham at this time. William A. Graham was obviously a pioneer with an incredible vision to have developed what is now the Town of Miami Lakes that I call home.

Throughout the decades, Diana and Anne Rawls Little, together with her Mom Glenn-Ellen, have made our family members living in a suburb of Washington, DC feel a part of the happenings in Florida, even when we weren't there in person to enjoy Bill's visionary realization of the great Miami Lakes community.

I offer each and every one of your collective family members, who have made such an incredible, positive and lasting impact on the lives of so many Americans my deepest thoughts and prayers at this most difficult time.

Our Sincere condolences to the entire Graham Family from us and all the members of the Charlotte, NC, Badminton Club..
Our personal memories of Bill and his badminton "gang" are many with our special time being in London, England in the early 80's where he joined our Surry Badminton club. He would take the train from Central London to Hampton Court, where we picked him up to take to the club.
It was usual in those days to have a beer after badminton, which is an excelent time to get to know the real person. He was a special person and will be missed.

To the Graham Family,
May this wonderful man rest in peace. We would serve his memory well by keeping his creation a beautiful place to live. Miami Lakes is a wonderful place thanks to him. May you find comfort in knowing he was appreciated and left an indelible mark in our corner of the world and beyond. God bless you all.

Paul Knechtel

January 19, 2009

Many of the badminton players in NC got to know Bill as a result of our travels to the Senior International Tournament at Miami Lakes and we are all saddened by his passing. Bill was always one to meet and greet everyone and was able to call most attendees by their first name. No one was too important or unimportant for Bill not to say hello. To many badminton insiders, the expression 'don't flip Bill' was one of the expressions of note at the Badminton Club at Miami Lakes.

A true badminton legend has passed.

I'm sad for the passing of one of my best friends, not just a badminton friend, but someone I considered a true friend... and almost like a second father to me at the same time.

I'm honored to have been your doubles partner in your last playing years, and I'll never forget all the wisdom you shared with me, both on and off the court.

I will miss you, Bill. I've had the pleasure to have shared many happy times, many victories (since you never liked to reminisce over the losses) and many laughs with you.

I will always hold you (along with Pat, Bee, Carol, Sandy, Cynthia, and Beth) near and dear to me.

Speaking for all the people you touched in the badminton community; we've lost a great friend, one of the most competitive sonofaguns EVER.

We shall always celebrate you.
