William Hackney Obituary
Born in Absecon he was the son of the late Joseph and Mary Carney Hackney.
He was a warehouse manager for the H.J. Heinz Co. in Salem. Mr. Hackney was a US Army veteran of World War II. He enjoyed his work at H.J. Heinz and the field hockey and baseball games of his grandchildren; he also was an avid golfer. Mr. Hackney is survived by his wife, the former Carol Drummond; his daughter, Pamela Bacon & husband Edward of Quinton; sisters, Pearl Danz of Linwood and Emily Hackney Miller of Absecon; his two grandchildren, Joel and Tara. Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, January 17 in Salem County Veteran¹s Cemetery, Pilesgrove.
Contributions in his memory may be made to Hospice of Salem County, 390 N. Broadway, Pennsville, NJ 08070.
Arrangements are by WOODSIDE FUNERAL HOME, Salem.
