I was very sorry to hear about Bill. We have stayed in touch over the years. Bill would come out to Whistler and we would go crazy skiing. It was always a pleasure to see him. Bill and I were roommates on the Disabled National Ski Team for years. We had a lot of great times. He will be missed. My thoughts are with Renee and the family.

I would like to send my thoughts of sorrow to Bill's family. I too was fortunate to have travelled and coached Bill for many years in his great racing career. He was a great man and as a long time member of the Canadian team he mentored many of the young althletes as they grew up with us while we skied around the globe. I am sure many are wishing all the best for the Harriot family in thier time of loss.
Respectfully

I was so sad to hear that Bill passed away. I spent so many years with him on the National Team - training, travelling the world and racing. He was the wiley vet we all looked up to and he had just the best attitude and biggest heart and was always, always happy. We will all miss him and our thoughts are with you Renee and the kids.

To Billy and Renee,
We skiied many great days on some pretty amazing mountains all over the world.
Japan 98, downhill was cancelled and we ripped the trees all day, laughed till our faces hurt. Then we went on to win some stuff. Watched the sun rise at 9000 ft on many mountain tops, shared victories and defeats,Bill never took it for granted and knew it was a special time. That inspired me and Bill always reminded me that it was just racing when it went sour. You were the rock mate. I loved you for it. We loved you for it.
When i first moved down here you both came to visit. Met my first son Jack when he was just a little newbie. Renee you were great with him, you gave Sara me the night off, we got to go out for the first time in ages. That had a big impact on my adjustment.
Love to you both and the family that he spoke of with great pride.
Billy, you had a unshakable enthusiasum that was genuine, a champion of a man, you made a difference my friend and will always be rememberd by me as a proud father, skilled athlete, wise man, a good friend, hell of a lot of fun and a very very proud Canadian.
Till we do turns together again Bill.
Much Love Mark Sara Jack Nicholas [email protected]

We will always be grateful to have known Bill. He had a great sense of humor, we loved all the stories he told us about his adventures, his life and most of all the way he always talked with great pride about his family, especially his grandsons.
Bill was and will continue to be a blessing to his community and friends.
May you find some comfort from all the Love that surrounds your family.

Dear Renee
It is indeed unpleasant to hear about Bill's untimely death. Our heart is filled with sadness for your loss. I can not imagine the pain you and the kids feel now but I wanted to let you know that our loving thoughts are with you.
Bill was more than my brother, he was a friend. He had an amazing sense of humor, calm personality and he was a great philosopher. He made me welcome no matter what was going on in his life or how busy he was. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
RIP "Wild Bill"
