William Joseph Hart

Hart, William Joseph Of Jackson, MI, formerly of Grand Rapids, MI. went home to be with his Lord, Thursday, December 17, 2015 at Allegiance Hospice Home at the age of 98. Bill was the son of Michael and Anna (Cracknell) Hart, born October 4, 1917 in Chicago, IL. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 69 years, Claire Ruth (Walters) Hart; grandson, William J. Hart III; his parents; one sister, and four brothers. Bill is survived by two children, William J. (Charlotte) Hart Jr., and Patricia (Steven) Williams; three grandchildren, Emily Stratton, Paige Williams, and Courtney (Joseph) Henderson; eight great-grandchildren, Reilly, Cailin, Chelsea, Sebastion, Timmarie, Teagan, Tristen, and Phoebe; great-great-grandson, Rider; many nieces, nephews and cousins. Bill retired from the American Oil Company after 29 years of service as a District Manager. He was a member of the Lions Club and BPOE for many years. He dearly loved playing golf thru the age of 95 with six hole in ones to his record, which he was very proud of. He also enjoyed fishing in the Florida Keys. According to his wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
