William "Bill" Arthur Holt, beloved husband of the late Marilyn Holt of Calgary, passed away on Tuesday, February 11, 2014 at the age of 77 years. Bill passed away at the Foothills Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. Bill will be dearly missed and remembered by his four children and their spouses, Susanne (Rob), Greg (Heather), Sherri, and Geoff, his nine grandchildren Kyrsten (Mike), Michael, Derek, Kasia (Ryan), Shirai, Jessalyn, Zevan, Kyrissa and Trinity, his great-granddaughter Ainsley, his two brothers Irv (Sharon), Rick (Sheila), sister Barb (John) and many close family members of his late wife. Bill was predeceased by his wife Marilyn as well as several close relatives. Bill was an accountant with Shell Canada for 27 years. After his retirement he enjoyed his employment and golfing at Earl Grey Golf Course. He also devoted his time to many worthwhile causes, especially his passion, as a warrior for the Multiple Myeloma Support Group. Bill cherished family, friends, and living life to the fullest. Bill's kindness, generosity, strength, and compassion will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY'S Park Memorial Chapel (5008 Elbow Drive S.W., Calgary, AB) on Tuesday, February 18, 2014 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Name Catholic Church (2223 - 34 Street S.W.) on Wednesday, February 19, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. Graveside Service to follow at Eden Brook Memorial Gardens. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. If friends so desire, the family is asking for charitable donations to be made to Southern Alberta Myeloma Patient Society, P.O. Box 30122 RPO Chinook, Calgary, AB T2H 2V8. In living memory of Bill Holt, a tree will be planted at Fish Creek Provincial Park.

I am so sorry for your loss and to just find out of Bill's passing in February, when I was down south. He was such a kind individual always donating his spare time to various organizations including the auditing of his radio control flying club books for the past 10 years. Although he was not active in flying for the past few years we did have plans to get him back in the air this summer. I will miss not seeing him at our club meetings and the occasional home visit.

So very sorry to hear of Bill's passing. I only got to know him over the last year as he was so very helpful to our family and SAMPS when my sister Carol lost her battle with MM. The myeloma community has lost a great champion. He was a kind, compassionate and considerate person. On our last trip to Calgary for the annual Walk/Run he could not have been more welcoming to us. Our most sincere condolences to the family. He will be greatly missed by all who had the opportunity to know him.

I knew Bill through a mutual friend for the past eight or so years. He was a true gentleman and a fabulous individual. He was a very loyal supporter of both University of Calgary Dinos football team and Calgary Stampeders rarely missing a game. I will miss the good times I had with him before, during and after these events.
