Bill, as you look down onto us just the other day Bob Smith and I were taking about. The old days as Inspectors with Hartford Steam Boiler. Your caring and mentoring me at North Anna Power Station starting as a Nuclear Inspector was what it took me to continue with the job. I always remember the day that you let me hunt deer on your property. You musted have chased them away because I did not see one at all that day.

Betty Gayle:
Bill was quite a man! Reading about all the good that he did, especially for children, makes us all proud and awed. The "dash" between his birth and passing dates is overflowing with extraordinary contributions. The world was made a better place because of him. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Stand tall for your man.

He's Only A Prayer Away

This man you love with all your heart
Will be with you each and every day
The love and memories shared
Will be your light as you make your way

There is no answer for Why now Lord
His decisions we can not question
Nor be prepared for the final goodbye
When it is our loved one He does beckon

We must celebrate this life
That so deeply touched that of others
And learn from his example
Of the extended hand to each and every brother

He is a man of whose greatness shall live
Long beyond his earthly passing
His mark left upon this earth
Is one forever lasting

So take comfort in not just who he was
But more in what he left behind
For his life today we celebrate
The greatness of this man so kind

The love that was shared
In your heart will forever stay
The oneness will always live
Because He's only a prayer away

I am afraid I stumbled upon the news of Bill's passing while looking for a dear friend of my son;s who recently passed away in order to send my condolences. Never did I think I would find more heart wrenching news. My heart and prayers are with you. I cannot imagine the grief that you must be feeling, but I do hope you will find peace through God's love and your friends. My thoughts are with you.

Catherine and I send our prayers and thoughts in support of Betty Gayle and the Huber family.

As a Mason, Brother Bill Huber lived the essence of a Freemason in his charity work. Bill touched many lives that were in need of serious medical attention. Through his work as a Shriner, he coordinated and directed transportation for many young patients to the Shriner's Hospital throughout the region. Young lives that would otherwise not received life saving and life changing surgery. He also served as Worshipful Master for two local Masonic lodges.

Truely, a man to be honored for such a positive impact on our community!

Betty Gayle:

Bill was not only my dear friend but an inspiration of hope to so many. He and you will always hold a special place in my heart. I will be forever grateful for the beautiful masonic service he and his lodge performed for Walter. With that service, I found peace. I know Walter welcomed Bill with open arms. I am here for you; always know that. When I last saw Bill, I asked if there was anything I could do....he whispered "please be there for Betty Gayle". You know I am here and thank you for making Bill so happy.

Bill Huber was married to my cousin, Betty Gayle and I came to know him as a confidante, big brother, and loyal friend with unconditional love.

In November Betty Gayle and Bill spent their last vacation with me in Kentucky. We took in Derby Downs, Berea College and it's arts, Irish Acres, and Bill was a Judge for the Miss Berea/Richmond Area Scholarship Pageant, a Miss America prelim.

This week when I notified my fellow board members, neighbors, and friends of our family loss, the response was overwhelming. The most touching from the winner of the pageant. She said, "Jimmy, during the interview portion Mr. Huber treated me with such respect, kindness, and concern that I wished he was my grandfather."

I must now go catch my flight to Charlottesville for one of those trips we never want to take. But I will be there for a couple that have always been there for me during their entire marriage.

Your loving cousin,

Jimmy Mawyer

Please accept my deepest condolences with Bill's passing. Bill took me under his wing when I started my Authorized Nuclear Inspector career with HSB. He always was outgoing and eager to help others with his knowledge and experiences.
