The news of Bill passing is sad to hear. The Jonke family are humble and charitable people. I remember when Sister Mary Jerald told them about a family who was in need of a furnace. Without hesitation they supplied it to the family as a "anonymous donor." They never told anyone. I shouldn't be telling this but I wanted to share how giving and loving the Jonke family is.
Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.

I met Bill through his daughter Michelle. His presence lit up a room. I will never forget his warm hearted laugh. He told me stories about his time when he was photographer for the old Cleveland Cavaliers. His life was a true blessing especially to those who knew him, I'm lucky to be one of many. My thoughts and prayers to the family. RIP

My memories of "Mr. Jonke" begin at St.Rita in Solon. He was a wonderfully kind, gentle, giving and caring man. I always felt he was more of a friend than a teacher. We met up again many years later after I became an adult. He still treated me with the same respect he treated me as a young child. I will always remember his raucous laughter. My visits to Camp Christopher will also be an indelible memory. Truely a real "gentle-man." RIP friend.

The news of Bill´s passing has been very sad for all of us that knew him. He was such a great person & longtime friend of mine plus many others from Maple Heights. We shared a lot of baseball / softball stories with friends hanging out at Stafford Park many years ago. God´s Blessings to all of Bill´s family & friends. RIP Bill
