William Karnes

William Todd Karnes unexpectedly but peacefully departed this life Nov. 15, 2017 at home. Todd was the youngest son of Phyllis Bowling Karnes and John Karnes. He was the younger brother of Roger Karnes whom he greatly respected and admired. Their passing was his greatest pain.

Todd was a mechanic by trade and a former Marine. He lived a life of dedicated patriotism. Todd was a Harley Davidson enthusiast and an accomplished artist, a country music lover and a friend to all animals. Left to cherish his memory is his longtime companion and the love of his life Leona Miller of Teays Valley. Todd loved Leona’s family and shared day-to-day life with them. He especially cared for her Mother Norma Jean Messer. Todd will be terribly missed by his sister Sherri Karnes of Hurricane and partner Kathy Given. Todd was so proud of his children. Todd leaves his son and namesake William Todd Karnes II and partner Stephanie Jones as well as his baby girl Kari Smith and husband Wesley Smith. Todd was a proud grandfather to Adrianna, Aubree and Harrison. Todd grew up in a large family of aunts, uncles and cousins who made his growing up years fun. Todd was as well blessed in life with a wonderful group of co-workers at Cooper’s Car Care, biker buds, and childhood friends that became like family.

Services will be Sunday, November 19th, 2017 at 2:00pm. Visitation will be from 1:00pm until service time at Tyler Mountain Funeral Home 5233 Rocky Fork Rd., Cross Lanes, WV 25313. Online condolences may be made by visiting www.tylermountainfuneralhome.com.
