I worked with Bill in 1989-1991 at the original Windjammer Lounge, Bloomington, IL, as cocktail waitress to Bill as bartender, and he was an amazing soul to work with. Bill was a PEOPLE PERSON, no doubt about it, and a great friend, kind and genuine.
Later, in 1994-1998, when I needed to supplement my income, he gave me a few weeknights, then coveted Friday's AND Saturdays, when he bartended at a lively biker saloon called Scuttlebutte - we were a team again! Bill made work FUN and friendly... A few years later he was co-managing another great local pub, Maguires. Bill was in his element, being FRIENDS with everyone he met, making people feel COMFORTABLE and appreciated - the very definition of a GENTLEMAN. There are so few of those around, anymore.
And the world just lost one of the BEST GENTLEMEN I've ever had the pleasure of knowing.
Godspeed, Bill.GENTLEMEN

I worked for Bill at Lowe's for a brief three months before his health began to fail. We shared a great interest in the St. Louis Cardinals and enjoyed identical senses of humor. I am saddened by his departure and send prayers of strength and understanding to Lisa and the family.

Lisa and Family,
So sorry to her Bill passed. He was always a true gentleman and friend. I spent a lot of time with Bill and his brother Pat at the hillside before moving to Florida. Many good memories.

I love you. So, Bill and I went to a Cubs, Cardinals game in 1990 if I remember correctly. Andre Dawson hit a foul ball and Bill dropped it. He then said he was throwing it back because he is a Cardinal fan. I will always think that was one of the funniest moments of my life. And I am extremely proud to have shared that experience with Bill. And I am also proud that I can call him my friend. Thank you.
