William E. Kleinbauer Sr.

William E. (Pickles) Kleinbauer Sr., 79, of Archbald, passed away peacefully at home Saturday surrounded by his loving wife and children. His wife is the former Virginia L. Totten. They were married for 28 years.

Born in Peckville, on April 3, 1939, a son of the late Sebastian and Beatrice (Edwards) Kleinbauer. He was an expert drag-line operator in the coal industry, working for several local companies before his retirement four years ago. He was an avid hunter and outdoorsman and a member of the No. 5 Hill Hunting Club. He enjoyed playing softball as a member of Johnny's Gold softball team in the Archbald League until he was 65. He loved the New York Yankees, his two beagles, playing the guitar and riding his UTV every Saturday with his boys. He was a gentle soul who had a hearty laugh and a kind word and smile for everyone he met.

His wife and sons would like to sincerely thank his daughter, Donna, who took charge in leading the battle in his fight against cancer. Her constant care and assistance assuring his care and treatments were her priority for the past 18 months and will never be forgotten. The family would also like to thank Dr. Sharma and the staff of Geisinger CMC Cancer Center and the staff of Revolutionary Hospice for the kindness, compassion and professionalism they showed Bill during his illness.

William is also survived by a daughter, Donna Warholic and husband, John, Jessup; three sons, William Jr. and wife, Hope, Archbald; Jackie and wife, Valerie, Mayfield; and Jeffrey and wife, Cathy, Florida. He is also survived by eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by three sisters, Marion Wagner, Beatrice Davis and Florence Dougherty; and a brother, Francis.

Services are private at the convenience of family.
