William Kurth

Montello - William "Bill" Louis Kurth, age 85 of Montello passed away Thursday, May 9, 2024 at the Montello Care Center. Bill was born in Antigo to Otto and Grace (Rebensdorff) Kurth on December 1, 1938. He graduated from Green Bay East High School in 1956 and was united in marriage to Judith Stone August 2, 1958; together they were blessed with 57 years of marriage and five children. Judi preceded Bill in death on April 29, 2016.

Bill and Judi owned and operated a restaurant for 14 years before his career as a car salesman. They loved the Northwoods and were able to spend many years of retirement in Boulder Junction. Bill was an avid fisherman and hunter and enjoyed fixing cars as well as watching the Packers and NASCAR. He will be remembered for his faith, his love for his family, and his love of nature.

Bill is survived by his five children: William G. (Karen) Kurth of Woodland, CA, Joseph J. (Elizabeth) Kurth of Montello, Bonnie Kitzhaber of Wausau, Elizabeth (Rich) Sorenson of Little Chute, and Benjamin (Taryn) Kurth of Chicago, IL. He is also survived by grandchildren: William A. Kurth, Christopher Kurth, Nicole Kurth, Scarlett (Michael) Ruyle, Grace Kurth, Joshua (Dana) Deppe, Jake Deppe, Casey Lacvkowski, Maxwell Sorenson, Jordan Shrader (Austin), Ella Kurth, Ryan Kurth as well as great-grandchildren: Amarah Connolly, Zion Kurth, Tallulah Kurth, Wilder Kurth, Kylah Deppe, Callen Deppe, Lina Potvine, Tanner Shrader, Logan Shrader, Covey Ruyle, Samuel Ruyle, and Clyde Ruyle. Bill is further survived by two sisters, Phylis Leonard and Audis Teal, as well as other extended family members.

A celebration of life for William Kurth will be held at a later date.
