William LaCroix, Sr. Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jun. 25, 2025.
Hemet - It is with a heavy heart that we, the family of William "Bill" Raymond LaCroix, Sr., announce the recent passing of our cherished uncle, father, and brother at his residence in Hemet, California. The Lord called our dearly loved relative home in the early afternoon hours of Sunday, June 15th, 2025.

William R. LaCroix, Sr. was born on February 26, 1944, to the late Richard L. LaCroix and Kathleen E. (Feeley) LaCroix of Smithfield, Rhode Island. William Sr. was preceded by the deaths of his older brothers: Anthony LaCroix of Rhode Island, Raymond W. LaCroix, Sr. of California, and Donald LaCroix of California. William's last surviving sibling is his brother Daniel R. LaCroix, Sr. of Rhode Island. William R. LaCroix, Sr., is also survived by his son William "Billy" LaCroix, Jr. of Tennessee, along with Billy Jr.'s wife and their two children.

William R. LaCroix, Sr., moved to California in the late 1960s and became a successful businessman. He is best known for being able to bring a smile to those around him with his quick wit and sense of humor. He was especially fond of horse races and golf. In his later years, he was a budding non-fiction writer and had an adventurous spirit, where he loved to get in his car and travel the country.

He will be greatly missed by his nieces and nephews: niece Donna M. (LaCroix) Urzua & nephew Raymond LaCroix, Jr. of California and niece Cherie (LaCroix) Perez of Oregon; niece Donna J. (LaCroix) Rowan & nephews Daniel R. LaCroix, Jr., and Christopher J. LaCroix of Rhode Island. In William's later years, he touched those who got to know him with his deeply reflective nature, his wise introspection guided by moral fortitude, and his genuine compassion for people. And for that, William R. LaCroix, Sr., will forever be remembered as a beautiful soul to those who had the privilege of knowing him. Neither time nor distance will ever dim the light of love his family has for him, as we keep his memory alive in our hearts and in our prayers.

The family is planning a private 'Celebration of Life' gathering for William Raymond LaCroix, Sr. Condolences for the family may be sent to: Donna J. Rowan, 15 Saw Mill Drive, Unit 304, North Kingstown, RI 02852

Donna my deepest sympathies to you and your family in the passing of Uncle Bill. I had the honor of speaking with Uncle Bill a few months ago. He told me how special you were to him and said the highlight of his day was talking to his niece Donna in RI. I hope those words bring comfort and peace to you. Rest in Peace Uncle Bill - fly with the angels. Diana Christian

My dear Uncle, I miss you every day since you passed. You not only were my Uncle as a relative, but a true friend to me. You always lent me a ear when I needed to talk, advice when I needed direction, unwavering encouragement and support at times I doubted myself, and brought me smiles and laughter in times I needed humor. I can't tell you how much that meant to me, and how much I am going to miss our special relationship. I pray you are at rest now with Jesus in heaven, and I know I will see you again someday. The deep grief I feel in your absence is because of the incredibly special person you were when you were present. And I will always cherish the memories we made, and the bond we had and still have. Godspeed!
