William Law Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Nov. 17, 2006.
LAW _ William (Bill) William (Bill) Law of Aldersyde has "Gone Fishin by a shady wadey pool." Right now he is probably scouting out the best spot to cast his line and catch the big one. Sitting along the bank is Christine, his wife and partner of thirty-two years and his son and best friend Trevor and his wife Tanya Law. Bill was born in Turner Valley at the LaRose Hospital November 23, 1931. He grew up in Mill City Mercury Camp at the Anglo American Plant site where he later worked and mastered his trade as a machinist along side his father. After the Gas Plant closed in 1962, Bill ventured into Calgary to take a job with the University of Calgary working in both the Physics department and the machine shop. His long-time youthful hobby of photography helped him transfer into the heart research department at the University where he worked for numerous doctors researching the functions of the heart and helping students prepare thesis. He left Calgary ten years later deciding his interest was to become a building mover to which he achieved much success. As life brings you home again, Bill found himself working for ICG Propane and he continued with this chapter in his life until retirement in 1996. His back yard projects and hobbies have been his most enjoyable times. Encouraging, teaching and entertaining friends and family made Bill the happiest. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Highwood Memorial, 128 - 5 Avenue S.W., High River on Monday, November 20 at 1:30 p.m. with the Reverend Pat Langlois officiating. In lieu of flowers, Bill's family has requested that you take time to enjoy a night out with your family. To e-mail condolences to the family please visit www.snodgrassfuneralhomes.com .
