We are so thankful and happy to have met John together with Cheryl - our wonderful, loveley friends from far apart - and we´re gonna miss John´s Kiwi accent, how he was talking to Bella ("good giiiirrrl"), how he was laughing and how he showed his love for Cheryl to the world - a unique person has gone forever, but will remain inour hearts - forever !

Our deepest condolences to Cheryl and to John's family and friends. The powerful and loving funeral service that we were fortunate to attend by livestream celebrated John's life and his unique and gifted character. A word for it in Hebrew is 'echoti,' which is hard to translate but its plain meaning is 'quality,' and how John was such a person, a rarity, who would add something of value to every one he knew and thus to the world. We wish Cheryl and all of the Macready relations a long life.

My deepest sympathies to the Macready family on the passing of John. He will be greatly missed by his co-workers at the State of New Jersey, OIT. John will be remembered as a very personable individual, always pleasant to work with, a kind word for all those he interacted and conversed with. An all around great guy!

Dear Cheryl, fellow Alto! I am so sorry to hear of your loss. And now have much regret that I did not connect with you and John in NJ, especially since I had some acquaintance with the the GIS guys in Trenton, having worked [and now retired] for Morris County in GIS.

Would that NYCS could treat you to a movement or two from Brahms' Requiem...

Fondly, and with great Sympathy,
Ellen Sleeter

To Cheryl and John's family: My heart is so sad to know that John is no longer with us. I had the pleasure of working with John in the GIS group in NJ for a number of years. He was a hard worker and tenacious in getting the job done while being friendly and affable. He will be sorely missed.
