William John "Glass Head" McAteer

William John McAteer, also known as Glass Head, passed away on November 12, 2023, at the age of 69 in Dunnelon, Florida. Born on December 28, 1953, in Wayne, NJ, William was a remarkable individual with a zest for life.

William led a fulfilling life as a Boat Captain and working repairing boats doing fiberglass for many years under the company name "Bills Boat Works". He was highly skilled in carpentry and fiberglass work, leaving a lasting mark on his craft. After meeting the love of his life, Sharon Clayton, William relocated to Florida, where they shared a deep and loving bond until her untimely passing. William had a great love for his family and cherished his dogs dearly. He found solace and joy in fishing and spending time on his boat, indulging in his passion for the open waters. Additionally, he enjoyed the art of grilling and always savoring the taste of his favorite drink Captain Morgan and coke.

William will be deeply missed by his surviving daughters, Carrie, Jessica, and Kellianne, as well as his beloved grandchildren Atty, Sydney,Christian and Sophia. He was preceded in death by his mother, Anne, his brother, Bobbie, and his fiancé, Sharon.

In his free time, William found immense joy in his hobbies, which included fishing, boating, and woodworking. These activities brought him a sense of peace and allowed him to express his creativity and passion.

The funeral home whom assisted with the arrangements for William's passing is Hooper Funeral, located in Inverness, Florida. The family will gather at a later date to honor and remember William, celebrating the remarkable life he lived and the memories he leaves behind.
