William McBride Obituary
He was born Jan. 22, 1933, in Elwood, the son of William V. and Mildred (Cary) McBride and lived most of his life in Anderson. He was a US Navy veteran and a pipe fitter at Delco-Remy. He retired in 1997 after 45 years of employment. Bill attended the Calvary Baptist Church of Alexandria. He enjoyed his cats, whittling, and assembling models. He had a great sense of humor and always had a joke to tell.
He is survived by his daughter, Cindy (husband, Dennis) Cunningham of KY; son, William Wayne (wife, Lisa) McBride of Alexandria; three grandchildren, Jessie Cunningham, Allie (husband, Jason) Walker and Bailey McBride; two great grandchildren, Jayden Cunningham and Alex Walker; and several nieces and nephews.
He is also survived by special friends, Larry and Diana Beane; his caregiver and her family, Tobie (husband, Dave) Ferrel, Seth Ferrel and Molly Adams.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Erma Fesler and Treva Stewart; and his companion Eunice Wishart.
Services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Thursday at the Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Home with Rev. Chester Smith officiating. Burial will be at Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery with graveside rites conducted by VFW Post 266.
Friends may call from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Madison County.
