WILLIAM MCNEIL Obituary

April 11, 1944 - July 19, 2013 EDMOND William A. (Bill) McNeil was born in Britain, South Dakota, April 11, 1944, to Vernal and Marcella (Johnson) McNeil. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Maurcine Olsen of Eagan, Minnesota. He is survived by his wife, Maxine (Brakefield) McNeil of the home, seven children, Robert Luther, Jr., Bonnie Super, and William, Jr., of Oklahoma, Steven Luther of Texas, Laurie, Blaine, and Shane Lee, of North Dakota, and their families; and sisters, Janet Malstrom, Sharon Pearson, Beverly Arneson, and Loretta Arneson of North Dakota. He also is survived by numerous grandchildren. Bill was a proud twenty-year Veteran of the United States Army, having served in Germany, Okinawa, and two tours in Viet Nam. His special loves were his grandchildren, John Wayne, and the Shriners Hospitals for Children. He was a member of Edmond Masonic Lodge #36 and India Lodge #551 of OKC, India Shrine of Oklahoma City, the Guthrie Valley of the Scottish Rite (where he had attained KCCH honors, as well as his 33rd Degree), the Royal Order of Scotland, the National Sojourners, and numerous other Masonic Clubs. He was a special husband, father, step-father, grandfather, brother, brother-in-law, and friend. He will be missed so much by all who knew and loved him. A Memorial was held July 23, 2013 at India Shrine in Oklahoma City, 3601 N.W. 36th, 73112, 405-947-3311. Requests for donations to the India Shrine Transportation Fund are requested in lieu of flowers.
