Howie was an amazing man and a great boss! I have one of his flashlights and a mug he made for me in my office at work to remember him-- still feel so fortunate to have had he and Wiz in my life.

Howie, I will miss our Towncar rides up to the Miller Garden Board meetings, where you would tell me all about your childhood in the Highlands, our rides to the U of W Tyee Board meetings and driving past "George's Building" in Federal Way and story of how you were able to get the Highway Dept. to lower the berm, so George could see his building from the freeway. You were a wonderful man that cared so much for everyone in your life. Thank you for being such a great client and friend.

I have fond memories of Howie from my time at FCI, always on the go, mobile phone in hand, right in the middle of something.
At one point I worked on organizing and cataloging some of some of those thousands of photos for him. Everyone ended up a subject sooner or later: His family, political candidates, folks in the office, the ladies at the cleaners, everyone. He always made at least two sets, and made sure that if you were in a photo, you got a copy if you wanted it.
My condolences to all of his family on your loss.

To all the Meadowcrofts and Weyerhaeusers, I will always remember what fun it was to grow up on Forest Glen Lane with all the wonderful families. Howie was in the Club Apartments with my mom and dad. what a great group of friends and pals that took care of us for so many years. He will be missed and I do think he's up with all those that are gone now. What a fun group to be with and they are all thought of regularly. love to all. Nancy Eshelman Gordon

Howie you will be missed. Thank-you for being a part of my growing up. Forest Glen Lane was an Ozzie and Harriet movie set and You and Wiz, the Allens, the Howes. the Murrays were all like additional parents I never knew I had until I later was able to look back and appreciate what I'd had there. You taught me how to use a darkroom and you graciously gave me yours and your time. You were a great guy...always so stoic and with that signature half smile and quiet mumbily half laugh of yours. I know Mom and Dad and so many others met you and I'm sure a quick Friday or Saturday night Forest Glen Lane party or Chevy Chase group outing was quickly thrown together. I remember those so vividly from growing up. What a life you had. One well lived! See you soon.

Laura, Anne, Lisa, Mark and Dave -- my heart goes out to you. Howie was a such a special man, with a heart of pure gold. I cherish the memories of the time I spent working for him and Wiz. His family was always his first thought and he was so proud of his children and grandchildren. My thoughts and love are with you all.

Howie was a special man with an incredible mind, a quick wit, and a big heart for those that needed him. If you were his friend, his associate, or his family you could count on Howie to be there for you in the good times, but more importantly in the bad times. Howie was always the "go to" guy. I was blessed to be part of Howie's life for 15 years. He was a loving grandpa to Brooks and Carson - something I will always cherish. One of my fondest memories of Howie will be the weekly notes he wrote Carson in response to the weekly cards Carson wrote him. Carson loved receiving his notes from "puppy" as Carson affectionately called him. I know heaven is brighter and a little more organized upon Howie's arrival. He will be missed.
