William Laurel Meisel, Sr.

Born May 22, 1937 in Baraboo, Wi, to William Adolph Otto Meisel and to Mildred Josephine (nee Hanson) Meisel.

Graduated from Baraboo High School in 1955. Enlisted in the United States Army in 1956, becoming part of the elite Security Agency program, stationed in Czechoslovakia. Honorably discharged in 1959.

Married the love of his life, Kathleen Rita O'Keefe, on October 24, 1959, at St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Milwaukee, Wi.

Attended Marquette University, 1956-1970, earning a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree, graduating with honors.

Attended The School for Bank Administration at UW-Madison, 1972-1975, graduating with honors.

Began 39-year career at Firstar Corporation in 1959, culminating as SVP/Head of Firstar Operations Center in Oshkosh, Wi. Retired Nov 1998 and moved to Eagle River, Wi to spend 16 happy years with Kathleen on Yellow Birch Lake. Moved to Waukesha, Wi after Kathleen's passing in Dec 2014.

Father of William Meisel, Jr., (Shannon) of Waukesha, Curt Meisel of Oshkosh, and Nicole Huber of Waukesha. Proud grandfather to Daniel Meisel (Anna Gomez), Elizabeth (John) Doro, Charles and Hannah Huber, and Cassandra and Peter Brayton. Recent great-grandfather to Madelyn Kathleen Doro.

Preceded in death by his dear wife Kathleen, parents William and Mildred, sister Janice Meisel, in-laws Robert and Rita O'Keefe, and many other dear family and friends.

Visitation will be held on Friday, April 14, from 10:00 AM -10:45 AM at St. John Vianney Church, 1755 N. Calhoun Rd., Brookfield, WI. Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 11:00 AM. Interment immediately afterwards at St. Joseph's cemetery in Waukesha, WI. Reception immediately following burial at St. John Vianney.

In lieu of flowers, donations are requested for the Milwaukee Rescue Mission.
