I am so sorry to read this news. I had been terrible about keeping in touch. Bill was my cousin, on my dad's side.

TO KAY and BILL l I knew your father while he was stationed in Germany and there are many nice memories of that time period- his white Volvo of which he was so very proud, travel to Sweden to visit his beloved family and meeting your Uncle Stuart whom he so enjoyed. Also, he loved to talk of the future. One of the things he had was a house plan for a home he planned to build when no longer in the military, One of the items he was especially proud of in that home plan was a sunken living room. (Never thought to ask him if he ever built a home with a sunken living room). He reconnected in the 1990s and since then there have been a few phone calls, letters and every Christmas a long letter with pictures. How very proud he was of you both and his grandchildren, giving an update with pictures every year on major family events.
Your father was a true gentleman, who loved and appreciated what used to be called the finer things in life ( art, music, literature, architecture, etc.),
He was a gentleman who took great pleasure in bringing enjoyment to others, always ready with a special meaningful gift. Also, how very proud he was of his Swedish heritage and family in Sweden. I hope you are able to keep up those connections.
He was deeply concern about you Bill in his Christmas letter of 2015 and I truly hope things are moving in a positive direction for you.
I wish you both and your families the very best. Your father now lives on through you. May you live fully with many positive, fulfilling experiences!
I found a phone number for your Uncle Stuart but was unable to reach him. would you please give him my condolences. With sincere sympathy Dorette Abresch Thompson.
